Description

BlockChat uses blockchain technology instead of a centralized server to provide service to users without requiring any personal data (no sign-up process), while securely protecting the privacy of their messages.

We want to reclaim the true nature of communication where only the users involved in a conversation can access the messages and empower all individuals to possess and use their own data.

◆ Your messages, for your eyes only
Because the messages transmitted on BlockChat are not channeled through a central server, no one else other than you and the intended recipient can view your messages.

◆ No personal information required
By using a Blockchain ID created from your device, BlockChat does not require your personal information to sign-up.

◆ Connect with only who you know
You are connected with your friends only by manually sharing the code, which prevents any unintended exposures to people in your contacts.

◆ Protect your messages from being misused
BlockChat allows you to edit any message, even those sent by your friends, so taking screenshots becomes pointless. You do not need to worry about your messages being misused.

[Optional Permissions]
- Camera: Allow Camera access to conveniently input Connection Codes by scanning QR codes. If you do not allow Camera access, you can manually enter Connection Codes instead.
- Notification: Allow Notification access to receive alerts when receiving new messages. You can still use BlockChat without granting Notification permission.

Even though I've just recently started using the app, I like it. Unlike most messaging apps with end-to-end encryption, it didn't require me to enter any personal information. Also, the ability to edit any message is reassuring at times. I gave the app 4 stars because I see potential for improvement. The design is a bit plain, but I didn't expect to see something like Instagram, given that the app is fairly new. With more updates, I think it'll be not only safe but more engaging.
