I tried several methods on my smartphone (Blackberry Key²) to import photos
from my Canon SX50HS via USB OTG and was able to get it to work fine. There
is one gotcha which is pretty big so don't try "import & delete" on your
first use. You will likely have to do as I did and create a custom folder
as the import location on your device. On mine it the default was set to
"internal" media & it didn't import anything. After selecting the "custom
folder (no sub-folders)" option in the app's settings and created an
"Imported" folder off my SD card camera folder it imported fine and my
Gallery App quickly showed the new folder it found with the imported
photos. I would have given the App a 5 but for this bug, some may consider
it worth only a 3 but of the other apps I tried including Google's Photo
App camera importer (which could not detect a PTP/MTP device). This App was
the only one that worked with my Camera & device. Yes Canon makes such apps
but only for their models that support wifi importing.

Set up the import folder first! Works as expected, which is to say it imported the photos from my PTP-compatible DSLR to my Android without any fuss. Just what I wanted.

This app saved me losing my mind! I tried for days to get my Samsung S8 to recognise my Nikon DSLR so I could easily back up my holiday pics (raw files) to the phone and then to the cloud. I adjusted many settings on the phone itself, searched through camera menus and downloaded various Nikon apps - all to no avail. This app was my last hope - and it delivered! It immediately recognises my camera, every time, and I just tick all of the images to copy across. Highly recommended for this purpose!

Imported and deleted selected images. It just deleted them and didn't import them. All 200 of them. A days worth of photos. Do not download

Doesn't work. I open the app and it says to plug the camera in. I plug in my Nikon camera and it says "There is no MTP device connected". What the heck good is an camera "downloader" app that can't even recognize a Nikon camera? I'm using a Nikon D7200 and a Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 inch screen with the latest android update. After stopping it and restarting it, it finally recognized the camera. I imported, or at least tried to import the pictures. It "said" it imported them, but it was so quick I don't think it actually did anything, when the camera is tethered to my computer it takes a LOT longer to download the same size files,a LOT longer. Furthermore, there is NO indication of WHERE it downloaded them, none, nada, zip. I open the Gallery to see if the pics it "claimed" to have downloaded were visible. Nope, nothing. This is a piece of junk that doesn't work at all.
