Camera Tools for Heros

I needed a way to control my Hero 4 and be able to see the video in Live Preview while I was shooting it. After trying the GoPro app and learning it would not do this, I ended up here at Camera Tools For Heros. It didn't work... BUT... I send in an email to their tech support and over the course of a couple of days, had a back-and-forth with a *real* person (not a canned and ineffectual response) who walked me through some options, and I'll be darned if it doesn't work exactly as promised now. Their tech guy is Harald Meyer, and he is patient and persistent. He kept at it until it worked perfectly and there was never a hint of "I'm working with an idiot" from him. All kudos to Harald! I'm making this sound like the software is difficult. It is not. There was an issue with MY camera that he finally diagnosed and corrected. Connection with the camera is now quick and easy. All I really needed was for it to show me what's being recorded, but the controls extend further than that and really do give you better control over the camera. Remember, I'm using a Hero 4 and diddling with that little screen in the front to figure out settings is a pain. Not anymore. I'm looking forward to exploring the capabilities of the app even further. I highly recommend this app AND the tech support that comes with it!

Great App for multiple Go pros. I use multiple gopro hero 7 blacks and gopro 10, and it is easy to use once you figure out where everything is. The way gopro does the wireless control is by buying the smart remote which is $80, but you would have to buy two of them, the old version and the new version, because the new gopro remote only supports the 9 and 10 but not the 7. If you want to control multiple and have different model go pros I would totally recommend this app. 👌🏼 👍🏼

Great tool. Wanted my protune back (session 5) and this did it. Once connected, cameras connect every time and works flawlessly. Can control many cameras at once. Great purchase.

You always need to disable Wi-Fi on phone before you can see live preview - because of error. And only after disconnecting Wi-Fi, clicking "live preview", waiting for the dialog "please connect to Wi-Fi", enabling Wi-Fi, confirming "no internet" android warning you can see live preview of your camera, but not always... p.s.
