Kevin from KAL arrived to look at a replacement fire in our Lounge. He gave me a price and arrived to fit the electric fire, he covered my carpets with mats and cloths. Very tidy job, showed us how the fire worked before leaving. We were very pleased with the job.

Terrible. Avoid this app and just do your research, as it's just full of crooks and tradespeople who wouldn't get recommended elsewhere. I've listed 10+ jobs on here and only found 1 decent person out of all the people put forward across all jobs. Not user-friendly and just feels borderline like a scam now.

don't bother with checkatrade. I used one of their trusted members (jr mechanics) to diagnose and repair my car. He came out and told me I need a new alternator. I bought the alternator myself, and he spent all day trying to fit it. He couldn't and assured me he would be back with the correct tools. Three months later and he won't answer or return my calls/texts and still has the new alternator. I got in touch with checkatrade, and they did an investigation. Now they have removed him from their app

You can't post negative reviews of traders! Absolutely not fit for purpose! I've had two "highly rated" workmen never show up or cancel last minute, then ask me to pay them £650 anyway and presumably trust them that they'll actually show up when it comes to do the work!

Shocking. I'm an electrician and tried using checkatrade to generate more leads. They promise you the world then try to tie you into a 12-month contract. Either that or monthly subscription where they'll give you a few leads on the 1st of each month to then email you saying your monthly budget is used up, and you're no longer showing in any searches! I don't even show interest in the leads, yet they still charge you for it. I'm currently on the phone to them but have been on hold for an hour now.
