Honestly, sad that the Caro Kann is only Pro, but I would recommend it! It's easy to study, the interactive parts are my favorite, and since I studied, I have learned the queen's gambit, which is nice! BTW, is there a king's gambit?

An app specific font size setting is needed. Now it's too hard to read book based courses that are text heavy.

For a beginner who learns by guided examples and then hands on repetition, this is not the app. This is less for visual learners and more for people who like reading and can self guide and apply. It uses quick chess lectures where you need to be familiar and accustom to using chess moves being named like e5

Buggy application. The pieces move very slowly, which makes the courses almost unusable. Support is also terrible. Whenever you report an issue, they respond with excuses or temporary workarounds instead of actually fixing the problem. The UX is frustrating as well. I had a transaction issue that took more than 24 hours to get a reply, and if you enable a payment code and forget it, there’s no way to disable it yourself. I regret spending money on the courses here.

App won't let me play a video from any point other than the point I left it paused on the desktop. Must be some poorly-programmed attempt at synchronizing video play between desktop app and mobile app. Makes video unusable.

Do NOT pay for this!!!! Because if you do, and you want to cancel it, you won't be able to. They will continue to take your money. I canceled my account in July of this year. They didn't take my money in August, but they did in September. I emailed customer service, didn't get a response. I went to the bank and put a block on payment. I guess that's the ONLY way to stop these thieves. I totally REGRET getting Chessable.

Not only is there a subscription, but then every decent course that's not for complete beginners is hundreds of dollars, you would have to spend tens of thousands of dollars to actually make full use of this app. If you were born extremely rich and have globs of money to throw around then you may like the app, but if you're just a working person, they did not make this app for you.
