I'm one of the local guide in Jogjakarta. Every time I had issues, I contact With locals team via email, and they always respond quickly, nicely, and always solve the problem. The app is pretty easy to use. It has all the information of the tour if you want to read them carefully 😉. As a local guide, With locals is really helping me with all the aspects; financially for my living, doing my hobby which is meeting international people and share my art (share my love) to my guests 🥰💓. The price quoted per person is often not for your group size, e.g. you see a price of 100 per person for a tour, which would be expensive anyway, but that is assuming you are a group of 4, so in fact the price is 200 per person. So beware. Also the free cancelation they advertise isn't. There's always a 10% admin fee and there is no cancelation available within a week of the tour. Again, beware.

I contracted COVID before a tour and mutually agreed to cancel the tour with the guide. With locals lied to me that the guide didn't agree to compensation and have now stopped responding. There is a COVID policy on their website that covers this situation, but they have no interest in honoring the policy. This company stole 300 euros from me. Ignore their response below, they only respond to reviews to distract other potential customers. I did email, no response!

THE FACT: Commission fee for host is 20 percent. When you paid 100 USD, host only receive 80 USD. Furthermore, this app will pay host 3 weeks after the tour. It will ruin anyone cashflow who join this so-called community. When you know the ugly truth, are you still supporting this app? Use Google, FIND OTHERS if you really want to support locals 💪
