DawnWise: Smart Sleep Alarm

DawnWise listens to your night through your phone's microphone and accelerometer, then times your alarm to go off while you're already in light sleep instead of yanking you out of something deeper. That analysis happens on your device, and your recordings never leave your phone.

THE SMART ALARM
Set a target wake-up time and a window before it (default 30 minutes). DawnWise watches for the moment you drift into light sleep inside that window and rings then, so you wake up feeling pulled up gently instead of dragged out of deep sleep. If light sleep never comes, the alarm still rings at your target time - never late, no matter what.

HEAR YOUR OWN SLEEP, ALWAYS INCLUDED
The recordings from your night are yours, and playback is never locked behind a paywall. Tap into last night's timeline and listen to any moment - the snore at 2am, the restless stretch at 4, the quiet stretch that felt like nothing but lasted three hours.

YOUR NIGHT AT A GLANCE
Every morning you get a report waiting for you: total sleep time, estimated stages across the night drawn as a hypnogram, and an efficiency score. It's all based on transparent, explainable signals from motion and sound, not a black box - and we're upfront that these are estimates, not clinical measurements.

TRENDS THAT BUILD HABITS
A single night tells you little. A week or a month tells you everything. DawnWise tracks a sleep score, sleep debt building up across days, and a regularity score that rewards going to bed at consistent times - even across midnight. Weekly and monthly trend charts make the patterns impossible to miss.

SNORE DETECTION AND TIMELINE
Because the same overnight recording already captures sound, DawnWise can pick out snoring automatically and lay it across your night's timeline, so you can see exactly when it happened and how much of the night it took up.

FULL BEDTIME SOUND LIBRARY
Twelve sounds to fall asleep to - rain, ocean waves, forest, campfire, wind, crickets, a fan, a passing train, and colored noise variants - with a fade-out timer so nothing plays all night and interferes with your recording.

CSV EXPORT
Pull your full sleep history out as a CSV file whenever you want it - for your own records, for sharing with a doctor, or just to look at the numbers yourself.

BUILT FOR SLEEP, NOT FOR YOUR DATA
DawnWise runs offline. There's no server, no account, no sign-up, and nothing about your night is ever uploaded anywhere. Cloud backup, if you turn it on, goes to your own iCloud or Google Drive - never to us.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Will the alarm ever ring later than my set time?
No. The smart alarm only ever wakes you early, inside your chosen window, when it detects light sleep. If that moment never comes, it rings exactly at your target time.

Does DawnWise diagnose sleep apnea or other conditions?
No. DawnWise estimates sleep stages and snoring from your phone's sensors for your own awareness - it's not a medical device and doesn't diagnose or treat anything. Always talk to a doctor about sleep concerns.

Do I need an account or internet connection?
No. DawnWise works offline with no account, no sign-up, and no data collection. Backup is optional and goes only to your own cloud storage.
