The FRITZ!App Fon guides you through the easy Configuration. Simply log in by entering your FRITZ!Box password, selecting one of your landline telephone numbers, and them confirm: your smartphone is ready for landline telephony. Once it has been configured, the FRITZ!App Fon makes your smartphone ring immediately for incoming calls, just as if it were a FRITZ!Fon, the intelligent all-rounder for your home network with FRITZ!. This works reasonably well – call quality is OK, there's a bit of lag compared to a DECT handset but not too much, and it even works away from home when my mobile is connected via Wireguard VPN back to the router (an unexpected bonus). One improvement I would like to see would be to separate the incoming call reject button into two: reject the call, or stop ringing but leave the call ringing on other handsets. Buttons to divert calls to a configured answering machine would be useful too.

Great app. One minor niggle it only seems to give the caller's number even though there's a contact with that number in both the fritz box and the phone

UI looks good and app is does what it supposed to do, except vibrate. No matter which ringtone, or silent/sound mode I use, my S20 will not vibrate. Normally I always use my phone in silent mode, so this basically means I miss 100% of the calls. I have contacted AVM in-app ask they asked but have not heard from them since. I will update my review if I ever do. EDIT: Cs got back to me and after a reinstallation and some changed settings, vibrations are coming through.

All newer version than 1.90.10 set the screen dark permanently (not only during the call), so it renders the phone unusable (no change with taps or the phones power-on button) -- Android 11 N105G. Only solution is to power off and reboot the phone in blind flight. The newer versions are missing the 'Advanced settings' where it was possible to keep the screen on during calls ('reduce display brightness' -- that prevented turning off the display).

Incoming calls are no longer ringing on several of recent and new Samsung we have in the family (S9, S10, S22, A31,...). But still works on a 9 years old Samsung. These apps becomes almost useless

Can only add my fritz box by ip, to then complain my lets encrypt certificate does not match

Since a while, when the app rings, and I pick up (green "answer" button), it shows the screen that it shows when in a call, but the app keeps ringing, and I am not actually in a call with the caller. Tapping the red "hang up" button has no effect. There is no way to get out of the "call" or to make the ringing stop, apart from force-stopping the app via Android settings. FRITZ! App Fon is basically unusable like this.
