Comments on MyFRITZ!App for Android
★★★★★
Very pleased to see that the VPN function is back again in the latest update. And great to see the developper / AVM listening to their user. Thanks (gut gemacht). I can only second what the previous previewer said about the missing VPN function. Not having VPN in this app and the configuration within Android obviously not working with the FRITZ box - what a shame! Seems the correct German word for this version is "kaputtverbessert"

Well-designed, works great for checking voicemail and accessing Fritz!NAS, except for the iOS app being unable to upload multiple files at once (while selecting files in the app) and not being listed as an option in the apple "share" drop-down menu (-> therefore, at least for me, I can only upload photos, documents etc. WITHIN the My Fritz! App and NOT by using the "share" option of other apps)
★★☆☆☆
Fritz box 7530. Internet/Permit Access/Fritz!Box Services. Enabled 'Internet access to the FRITZ!Box via HTTPS enabled' and set 'TCP port for HTTPS' to 65535. When I go to the app, I can only enter an IP address to connect. I can not enter a port number. Therefore, I can not connect the app to the router. I can access the router fine with a Web browser. Internet service provider is set to existing connection over LAN. The Fritz Box is plugged into my existing LAN. I am only using the VoIP part.
★★☆☆☆
It is very frustrating that Block / Unblock function is not working anymore with the recent update. It was an important feature. Many users have complained about it but so far it is not resoved. Please try to improve the app and make it user-friendly.

Evaluation of 1 star is for v2.16.1! Removing vpn functionality from inside the app and redirecting to browser for router management was a disaster!!! Had to roll back to v2.15.2 and then self sign it to stop auto update from play store! I really hope you will restore this app to its previous glory in future updates. UPDATE (11/08/2021) - v2.17.0 VPN functionality re-integrated in v2.17.0 and works well, that's true. BUT you didn't restore the redirection from inside the app to android browser issue, when accessing fritz box router management page (I believe others also complained about this). This causes the app (v2.17.0), when in vpn mode and click to access my home fritz box, to either crash or take way too long to open the router's page to a browser outside the app. So, I recommend the re-integration of this functionality as well, inside the app, just like it was in v2.15.2 (i.e. when clicking fritz box button, router management page should open inside the app and not trying to open android browser, causing the app to crash or hang). I would like to note that v2.15.2, which had this functionality integrated as well, never crashed or hanged. So, if you fix this second issue as well (by re-integrating it in the app), I will change my review to a 5-star review.
