I’ve been using Tuta, and I’m really satisfied with it. My concern about Tuta is that account recovery depends mainly on a recovery code, which is secure but risky if it is lost. It would be helpful to add optional recovery methods like a backup email or phone number, so users can choose easier recovery without affecting privacy focused users. Overall, I’m happy with Tuta and think it is a great email service. I just hope this small improvement can be considered in future updates.

👎👎👎 The "6 months active account or deactivate" policy for free tier user like myself, is the major factor for me to leave Tuta altogether. My initial thought to use Tutanota was to not over rely on Google's product. Recovering my accounts binded to Tutanota has been hellish, Tuta own customer service isn't much help either, and those who did respond just sent the same message "we can't recover your account" BS💩. There's no point of creating new email with this one.

With the latest update, Tuta mail app has gone from bad to worse. I am speechless as to why no proper testing was done before this release. When I launched the app, my inbox always display the older email on last year, I have to manually select another folder then back to Inbox folder to view the current year mail. Sometimes no new mail notification pop up, I will have ti manually launch the app to press Reconnect or refresh causing me to miss important new emails.
