Description by Stack Trace Studios LLC(from Google Play)
Decanon is a critical companion to the 66-book Protestant Bible. It carries no scripture text. What you read is my own commentary, passage by passage.
I split the canon into 128 sections. Each one gives you the passage reference, a few sentences on what that passage says, and the flags that apply to it. Keep a Bible open beside the app and check any claim against the wording yourself.
INSIDE DECANON
- 39 Old Testament and 27 New Testament books, each with its chapter count, a dating note, an overview, and critical context - 206 annotations, each one naming the passage it discusses - A catalogue grouped by testament, then by Torah, Historical Books, Wisdom and Poetry, Major Prophets, Minor Prophets, Gospels, History, Pauline Letters, General Letters, and Apocalyptic - Search from two characters up, across book names, section titles, passage references, summaries, and annotation text - Filter chips for the flags: pick several and you get every book that carries any of them - Share a section with its summary and flags, or copy its passage reference
11 KINDS OF FLAGS
Violence, misogyny, slavery, homophobia, harm to children, science conflicts, contradictions, historical errors, racism or ethnocentrism, moral issues, and logical issues. Tap a flag to read the annotation behind it.
WHO IT IS FOR
I wrote Decanon for readers who were taught the text contains no error and then found reasons to doubt that. I am blunt about what the text says, and I do not mock the people who hold the book sacred. About lists the works that shaped my editorial approach. I did not footnote the annotations one by one.
FREE BOOKS AND FULL ACCESS
Genesis and Exodus are open from the first launch, which is 11 of the 128 sections and 35 of the 206 annotations. One optional purchase adds the other 64 books: 117 more sections and 171 more annotations. It is a one-time purchase and there is no subscription. Restore Purchases brings it back on your other Android devices under the same Google account.
PRIVACY
Decanon has no account and no sign-in, and it ships with all of its text inside the app. The app requests no internet permission. There are no ads, no analytics, and no tracking SDK, and no server of mine sits behind it. Google Play handles the purchase, the restore, and the review prompt.
