RecForge II Pro is the ad-free version of RecForge II: a professional audio recorder and dictaphone for Android, built for people who need control over how sound is captured — not just a red button.

Most voice recorder apps hand your audio to the system and hope for the best. RecForge II lets you set the gain yourself, switch off Automatic Gain Control, pick your codec and sample rate, and check your levels before you record. What you hear is what you get.

▬ PERMISSIONS ▬

• Microphone: record sound from the built-in or external microphone
• Music and audio: find and play back the recordings already on your device
• Notifications: show recording controls and status while recording

Recent changes:
Fixed: the record button did nothing on Android 11 and 12. A permission
check added in 1.2.8.8 could never succeed there — recording now only
needs microphone access.

Fixed: the app never asked for access to your existing recordings. It now
requests file access at startup.

Fixed a crash that could occur when restarting your phone.

Error reporting is back on, so remaining issues can be found and fixed.

Widgets and the recording scheduler remain unavailable in the 1.2.x line.

For 8 years I've been recording books, piano and my voice using Reforge… incredibly convenient on the run, and always produces high quality raw material for sound editing (I use Audacity). So who cares if for editing this tool is cumbersome and imprecise? But any reasonable sound editing obviously needs detailed manipulations that require other tools.

Best audio recording app for Android hands down. Set record volume, record through audio-in jack, overdub, convert file format, crop and trim, etc. Been using the pro version for 7 maybe 8 years. Android file system issues from 2022 are addressed in latest version, meaning that you can save files to the Music folder (and that folder only, due to an Android limitation).

Hello! I have enjoyed using the app for years. Yesterday, the app froze, and I could not du anything in it. Opened and closed it, and the only thing I got it to do was to get an error message where it asked if I wanted to wait or close the app. I desired to use the recorder and uninstalled it, and reinstalled it. It now works, but all my previous recordings are gone. I use it to record a seminar worth 450 usd. Is there any way I can retrieve the files?

What has just happened!!! All my recordings have disappeared because of some update that is unclear, and I had no choice with. Everything has disappeared .... every recording! What the ....! I've used this app for years, a paid version .... what just happened???
