Teaches you Chinese by reading random articles and quizzing you on the vocabulary in the articles. Given that it's still in active development, there are a few bugs and weird word-translations. But it is my favorite Chinese learning app and the free tier is already extremely useful.

One of the best Chinese learning applications out there. The free version is already very comprehensive and helpful to me, with no ads at all. The app has amazing HSK level-aligned articles, interactive learning mode, reading mode, vocabulary exercises, and dictionary with various features like stroke order and memory aid. I'm very pleased with the free version and would love to purchase to support the developers one day. I'm surprised this app has no reviews despite being so good for free.

Uses AI images. I'm not sure how much of the rest of the app, if any, uses AI, but the fact that the company apparently considers genAI used to be acceptable is reason enough not to use it.

Disappointing downfall of a once great learning tool. I used Dot in beta. It did things no other Chinese app did. It challenged you with real life texts, drilled you on basic vocabulary, and forced you to really learn characters rather than vaguely pattern matching. It was a great complement to Bio-based apps, spurring achievement and progress. The app as it exists now has been watered down to take away the challenging parts, so there is no real learning progress, and it offers nothing unique.

😡😡😡👎👎👎 Massive huge problems, just even trying to set up my account in the first place. I go through the whole process, get the verification email after a second attempt of trying to get the email verification, which I did not get the first time, and it's even time, so they're like, you got like thirty seconds to hurry up then the retards hide the emoji that I picked and forced me to rest all over and pick a whole new icon for my profile, yet now I could not find the emoji that I picked...
