Description
When you change phones, restore backups, or copy photos through a PC, the file modified date may change to the copy date. Many gallery apps sort photos by the modified date, so old photos may appear as if they were newly taken. File Date Fixer is a tool that fixes file modified dates based on the shooting date stored in Exif metadata.

About automatic fixing: Automatic fixing is available only for image files whose Exif shooting date can be read. Files without Exif dates, or files whose Exif data cannot be read, are not eligible for automatic fixing. For those files, you can use manual fixing to set any date and time.

Happy to return here 2 Years later with a 5-Star Review. I obviously don’t like ads, but the author has to do what he has to do. This little tool has made my life considerably more __smooth__ as I spot edits that I overlooked in my graphics files. . . And can now drop them into their sequence with perfect alignment. I also like how I can BANISH some files into the wasteland by setting their EXIF to some appropriate digital Siberia heh, heh. Keep up the good work. I am using a much cuter ICON...

Simple to use. Easy to understand. Wish to have a batch function to automatically skip all the photos without photography dates, auto update to modify date to photography dates for all those have. Current version has auto mode but user needs to click "next" or "auto update" one photo at a time.

It does what I need, but it is difficult to use, primarily because of the way it lists the folders: there is a long list, one line for each folder; for folders that are deeply nested, the line is so long that you can not always tell what the folder is. I recommend that the app use a directory tree, i.e., start at the top folder and work your way down to the desired subfolder. It will change the file modification date automatically for files that contain the date in EXIF. For others, manually.
