PROJECT MODE — map light onto real objects
Map custom shapes onto the physical surfaces you want to light up: triangles, quads, free-form polygons, or a warp mesh for curved and multi-planar objects. Drag each corner — or each mesh point, up to 8×8 — until the image sits exactly where you want it. A nudge pad moves a corner a pixel at a time, for when your fingertip is covering the thing you are trying to position.
Fill every shape with a photo, a video, a solid colour, one of 15 animated patterns, or your live camera feed. Adjust opacity, brightness, contrast and saturation per shape, blend overlapping projections with Add and Screen, feather the edges so adjacent surfaces meet without a seam, and use mask shapes to cut clean holes in your projection.
When you're ready, switch to Present mode: every control disappears, the display locks to your orientation, the screen stays on, and your phone becomes a clean projection source. Six built-in calibration patterns help you focus, square and centre the projector before you start, and a blackout button kills the output instantly when someone walks in front of the beam.
TRACE MODE — transfer artwork by hand, no projector needed
Hold your phone up to a wall, canvas or panel and see your artwork ghosted over the live camera view. Scale it, rotate it, flip it, set the opacity, then lock the transform and trace what you see. Turn on edge detection to convert any photo into clean high-contrast line art that is far easier to follow than a full-tone image. Freeze the frame to step back and check your alignment.
Built for muralists, sign painters, decorators, woodworkers, crafters, and anyone who needs to get an image onto a surface accurately.
MORE
• A guided tour that points at the real controls the first time you open the app
• An illustrated manual and FAQ, always one tap away in Settings
• Six dark themes, including a pure-black one for OLED and a colourless one for judging projected colour
• Animations you can turn down or off, and which follow your device's own setting
• Photograph a surface and map onto the photo, so you can align before you set up
• Full undo and redo — a whole corner drag is one step, not two hundred
• Unlimited saved projects with thumbnails, saved as you work — or only when you tap Save
• Media you pick is copied into the app, so a mapping still works after a restart
• Nothing you make is ever uploaded: projects, photos, videos and camera images stay on your device
FREE
FluxBeam is completely free. Every feature is unlocked, nothing is watermarked, and there is no paid version. A short rewarded video unlocks Present mode for ten minutes at a time; it needs a connection, so projection does not start offline. Editing and tracing work offline. Ads never appear over the editing canvas, during projection, or while you're tracing.
