Description
This app displays Google Navigation instructions on your Samsung Gear 2 smartwatch. It needs the free companion app "Gear 2 Navigation" from Samsung Galaxy Apps to work.
How to use: - Install Samsung Gear and connect with your Gear 2 device. - Install this "Gear 2 Navigation" app. - Install free "Gear 2 Navigation" app from Samsung Store on your Smartwatch. (Go to: Apps> Samsung Gear > Samsung Galaxy Apps). - Start Gear 2 Navigation app on your phone. - Allow the app to read notifications. (Go to: Settings > Security > Notification Access and enable Gear 2 Navigation). - Start Google Maps Navigation and instructions will be pushed to your smartwatch.
Troubleshooting - Ensure your Gear 2 is connected to Phone and you have Samsung Gear installed. - If the app still only shows the "waiting" message, please ensure that maps notifications are activated and displayed on your phone (Go to: Settings > More > Applications > Maps and enable "Show notifications"). - Restart smartphone AND Gear 2 - Uninstall and reinstall the app

I bought this app yesterday. And it does work on my samsung gear 2, except
that my phone's display (s7 edge) needs to be always on while running
Google Maps. Otherwise, when I put my phone in my pocket & the lcd sleeps,
Google Maps & gps sleeps as well. Then it stops sending information to my
watch. Which is pretty pointless because if I need my phone's screen to be
awake & running Google Maps, then I might as well use the phone itself and
keep the watch in my pocket. Another option would be to keep the phone's
lcd on, keep it my pocket while cycling, and let the phone's battery drain
away while my leg movements mess with the turned on lcd with all that
rubbing around. Any help to resolving this issue would be much appreciated.
Update: finally resolved it, just need to turn off the battery optimization
so Google Maps can run in the background. App runs great! Updating my
review to 4 stars.:-)
