Update 8/2026 - This is still the best tracking app. I now use it to track my Ebike rides. I like that I can display any or all tracks on the map for when I'm looking to see new places. I decided to make a donation for this great app. Hands down the best app for tracking your travels. I've used it for walking, traveling by car, truck, motorcycle, cruise ship and even while flying. Accurate and loaded with statistics. I've been using it for so long I couldn't even begin to guess when I started.

It does all I need it to for free and without ads. Record a route, show some nice statistics about it like average and max speed, a graph of speed throughout the route, visualize it on a map, it can even color the line based on how fast you were going at that part of the route. You can pay to unlock additional features, but this is not pushed in your face and all free features make for the most complete app I know when compared to other trackers. And no ads. I can't say that enough. No ads.

Paid for the playback of route, and it was horrible to use for a trash route. Not user-friendly. Instead of a straight line it could use a line with an arrow pointing which way of travel you were going.

I had big hopes for this app and offline map use. Unfortunately the process for offline map viewing is very inefficient. As it says: However, please ensure you have an internet connection at least once before your trip to view the specific map area you need at various zoom levels. It would be so much more efficient to use OpenAndroMaps or other pre-built OSM maps and the subscription to Mapbox would be totally irrelevant. Sorry this app is not for me.

Incorrect names of bodies of oceans. Lake Ontario and Gulf of Mexico incorrectly changed names to Lake America and Gulf of America. If you blatantly change names and locations, I can no longer trust your accuracy. Follow international norms and treaties for naming bodies of water and geographic locations. You have a week before I uninstall.

Has been a super important part of my daily life for about a year now. Something to keep track of my phone so no one GPS spoofs it again.
