Description
Rewards for Not Driving Alone.
GoCarma verifies eligible commute activity automatically and helps you qualify for local transportation programs.
Carpool. Transit. Telework. Walk. Bike.
Trips are detected and verified in the background — no hardware required. Once confirmed, eligible trips appear clearly in the app.
How it works:
• Sign up and allow some app permissions • Commute as you normally do • Eligible trips are verified automatically • Review confirmed trips in the app
GoCarma powers programs designed to reduce congestion and reward smarter commuting.
Dallas–Fort Worth, TX: More than 3.5 million HOV discounts have been verified across North Texas. Over 100,000 commuters use GoCarma to qualify for 50% HOV toll discounts on TEXpress Lanes during peak periods.
San Bernardino County, CA: Supporting SBCTA’s commuter VMT mitigation program. Eligible commuters earn incentives when they avoid driving alone.
Location With Purpose: GoCarma uses location only to verify eligible trips. Permissions can be managed anytime in the in-app Privacy Center.

The support for this app is pretty great. I was skeptical at first, but when our toll authority switched to this for HOV rates I had no choice. I'm not mad.

Works well and when it doesn't, the developers get back with you almost instantly to resolve the problem! Developers can't test for every obscure possibility. So it's always nice to get rapid acknowledgement and a solution when you give the app a new situation to manage.

I like that I can get an extra port for my little one which qualifies us for the additional discount.

Works great for me. I have it on the android and iPhone. Does not interfere with any Bluetooth audio or Bluetooth calls in my truck.

Dallas needs to come up with a new method for HOV discounts because this is not it!! I have tried this on 4 separate occasions, both with 2 smartphones and today with the occupant pass. All 4x I was charged full price. There is no way to see the status of the vehicle to know if it is reading all devices in the car. There's just an unhelpful blue bar that says you set it up correctly. To top it off, not only do I get charged full price, but this also drains your battery. Just Trash!

Invasive app with always-on location access. The old app for hov discounts was better with less privacy invasion.

The system is severely flawed and unreliable. I use a lot of HOV tolls and the system fails on either the GoCarma on NTTA side constantly. Over the past 3 months it is a 48% failure rate to correctly identify or apply the discount. Customer service may credit the account, but they show no intention of fixing the issues. I am sure both sides would lose a lot of toll money if it were fixed vs. crediting the people that check. It's really fraudulent.
