I bought a Vaonis ESTIA for the March 2025 eclipses. The partial solar eclipse had clear skies and Gravity worked really well to create a time-lapse movie from the JPEG images I'd manually taken using ESTIA at 1 minute intervals. Using a Pixel 8a, Gravity makes locating and imaging deep sky targets easy, and I've imaged M13, M3, M5, M38, M37, M57, C13 from Bottle 8 location. I wish Vaonis would greatly increase their catalog of deep sky objects (T Cor Bor please?) but otherwise pleased.

On Android, this app is useless. Half of the time it shows only a black circle when the camera should be active. In Deep Sky mode it doesn't show any guidance to point to an object (as I believe it does on iPhone). It's probably too late for me to return my ESTIA, but if you only have an Android device I would not buy a ESTIA.

TL;DR Make sure the Gravity works before you buy ESTIA, if it doesn't find something else. I loved this until the app broke. Unless Vaonis can fix this app the telescope is a useless product. The whole point of this app is the camera feature and that doesn't work. If they can get that working again then I would change my review. As one that was part of the Kickstarter I was excited but have been let down. It has potential, but they need to fix the core parts before adding more features.

Camera doesn't even function with the app, key features are missing, and it's just buggy in general. Default camera app is better right now. Very disappointing, especially considering that it was just like this when the eclipse happened.
