Pretty impressive what you can pack into a small box these days. The functionality of my new See star S50 greatly enhanced by this app. I note the continuous improvements which bodes well for the future. I'm an old school astronomer who dabbled in astrophotography years ago but gave up due to time and expense. This new "smart" paradigm is a value added entry back into the hobby. Not a toy but a serious instrument. Well done ZWO. EDIT:The recently introduced EQ mode is a game changer!

Great most of the time. I absolutely loved my s30. So much so I got the s50 too. The app works well most of the time but tends to have glitches after some updates requiring adjustments and calibrations and or further updates to fix it. That said it's nice that they are continually updating as needed. The app is pretty straightforward and simple to use. They have tutorials explaining pretty much everything. One issue I have is the deep sky stacker is not great and tends to bloat stars.

The perfect gateway into astronomy. The S50 can easily outperform outdated visual telescopes in under 5 minutes per celestial object, with views surpassing those from a 10-inch telescope. All the while, using a medium with which you are already familiar, such a smartphone or preferably a tablet. This is called EAA electronically assisted. Astronomy and smart scopes are the future of amateur, astronomy and basic astrophotography. The Sea star S50 moves amateur astronomy into the future.

Latest update the See star can no longer find the Bluetooth connection, therefore I cannot use my telescope. Thanks a lot ZWO. The app is so flaky you can't even submit a bug report. You just get a spinning wheel going around ad infinitum. 06/05/2026 In response to ZWO - I have reached out to customer support and heard nothing back...not even an acknowledgement email. I am not on Facebook, nor do I intend to be.

Since the latest firmware upgrade it doesn't work so I have expensive piece of equipment that doesn't donors job because of bugs glitches in firmware come ZWO get it sorted. Not very happy people out here
