This is a brilliant app which allows us to use grayscale on any phone and the instructions in it are also very clear. I give my thanks to the developer.

Annoying that it has to be set up (thanks goog), but instructions are clear and straightforward. Works as advertised!

It does what it says, but if you want your phone in b&w all the time, just enable it in dev options>simulate color space>monochromacy. Ez.

I'm not able to set up the app yet, as I'm away from home. But it really sucks that you need to download an app, root your phone, or use adb to be able to easily use this basic accessibility feature. This kind of thing should really be preinstalled. The only reason it's so difficult to turn monochrome on and off is because it'd harm the profits of companies that depend on addicting people.

You DON'T NEED this app to switch your phone to grayscale. It's an option in the accessibility menu under settings (in my android it is, anyway), which should already be there. This app asks for root permissions to get into your phone and I feel like that's pretty invasive. I would prefer not to grant those.

Enable developer options 1. Go to Settings 2. Tap About phone 3. Tap Build number 7 times to enable Developer options 4. Go back to Settings → open Developer options 5. Scroll to Simulate color space 6. Select Monochromacy → Your screen will now be black and white. You don't need this app...

CAUTION! The app let me change my phone to grayscale, but I am unable to change it back even by uninstalling. The only way to switch it back it to follow a long list of instructions including connecting it to a computer, downloading a file, and using coding to give the app more permissions.
