Description
Control your phone through GTalk / XMPP.
Note: GTalkSMS is not a chat client, its a service on your android phone that connects to GTalk/XMPP and waits for special commands and informs a GTalk/XMPP account about new SMS Messages / Incoming Calls / Battery State / etc.
* Start the application remotely by sending a SMS with "GTalkSMS" body then locate your phone, erase data or take photo if your phone has been stolen. * Receive and send SMS from a GTalk/XMPP conversation. * Search for : - contacts from GMail or Exchange, - old SMS, - call logs. * Start GMap, Google Street view or Google navigation from an address entered in a GTalk/XMPP conversation. * Copy text to android clipboard or text boxes from your PC with a real keyboard. * Get your Android phone clipboard. * Execute shell commands. * Receive notifications from incoming SMS or incoming calls. * Dial a contact on your phone. * Mark SMS as read. * Make your phone ring. * Make your phone send you geolocalization links (GMap links) to track down your phone.

Sometimes Jabber doesn't work. It's mostly due to the Jabber server, then please don't blame GTalkSMS.

sweet & perfect! the best tool for android remote administration! you can do so much with it! from sending sms remotely, you can easily copy-paste stuff on it and struggle less with your phone's keyboard. you can even leave your android at home and still be able to sms people using it. optionally use it like an alarm for people at home using ring:... you can remotely reboot your android if you got root.. cmd:reboot ... since it is small and light, it's the best tool to manage old android phones if you have multiple carriers/numbers... :D

@Santhosh It does NOT per se ask for the password of your normal Gmail account; the developers recommend you to make a new Gmail or Jabber account with which the app can chat to your normal Gmail or Jabber. :-) It is explained in the documentation. This app is very useful! :-)

Didn't connect Well at least I wasted my time installing this and setting up a jabber account justri have this attempt and never work. Yes I checkedmy setting and the domain. But it just spun the circle at me. Weak.

great concept, not-so-great execution Always locks up after a command fails, you have to kill it manually from the apps list.

Great idea, poor execution App is very useful. Can do more stuff than Chrome to Phone even if you want just share urls but unfortunately it does work! 5 out of 10 times it fails by stalling in connection to server phase.

Disabling delivery reports doesn't work. Be careful, these are charged. You can request SMS delivery report barring from your telco. Bloody sneaky.
