On the Company side, Hertz is a great place to rent. Always great vehicles available - clean, fueled up and run perfectly -- never had an issue. The folks working in the return lanes are professional, and they get you on your way quickly. On the personal side, Hertz does discriminate against low income/low credit score holders. If you only have an MC/Visa DEBIT card -- even if you have a $5,000 balance - you're not a member of "the club", and you're going to pay an extra $200 at the counter.

Worthless. It forgets your current rental if you do an extension, and the extending process almost never works, which forces me to speak with a robot that never understands my name and I have to repeat myself several times before it gives up and puts me on hold for a real person. It should take three clicks and already know my reservation number without having to search my email for it first. It gives inaccurate error messages while paying, making it harder to troubleshoot issues.

Wow. Im use to paying under 500 a week at national. My last one was 6 days just over 400. I just had to use hertz in an emergency and I'm paying almost 1400 for 3 days. 1k more for half the time! Hertz is defiantly going way last on my emergency rental list. Littiraly only if I can't find any other cars available. No wounder they always have cars available when everyone else is sold out. Additionaly my job needed me to extend one day and hertz wants another 700 more for one more day! Stay Away!!!

My bank confirmed that Hertz is an SCAM. We rented a car through Hertz to go from PA to WV for family reunion. We paid with a debit card. Went there to pick up the vehicle. They refused us. Said we should've paid with a credit card. We don't have credit cards. Nowhere on their site/app says you need to pay with a credit card. Canceled same day. Costumer service are Philippines who barely speak english. Charged $99 for cancelation fee. Waiting to get $450 back from my bank and a new debit card.
