Great Hertz experience, frustrating app. I've had great experiences with Hertz rentals and their staff. Unfortunately, the app is extremely finicky about logins. If I haven't used it for a while, it won't accept my saved credentials - even when I'm manually entering my correct member number and password. I've had to reset my password multiple times just to regain access. The rentals are great the staff is fabulous; the app needs work. Four stars only because the app is a pain.

The Hertz app keeps optional insurance, such as Damage Waiver and Personal Liability Insurance, saved as default preferences. This can add paid coverage to a reservation without a clear, active selection for that rental. Customer care said it was based on my profile, but that is not acceptable. Optional insurance should require confirmation for every booking. This practice is misleading, unfair, and can raise the rental cost unexpectedly.

None of my active rentals have been reflected under My Rentals...always have to type in confirmation # & name and can't MODIFY reservations, makes you go through as if it's a new reservation even to just change to a later pickup time

Terrible app experience. While making a reservation, I got error about not being able to use a debit card. Cool, no problem. I use a credit card to make the prepaid reservation. Well despite their apparent inability to use a debit card, they went ahead and placed a hold on it, even though the rental was prepaid in full on a different card. Cant access the reservation via the app to modify, check or cancel it, due to being spammed with a gold member sign up. Im already a gold member.
