Description
The constantly growing product range of Homematic IP includes devices for climate control, security, weather, light and shutter control applications as well as various accessory components. The climate control devices offer demand-based room-by-room control of radiators throughout the entire house, enabling users to save up to 30 % on their energy costs. And also floor heating systems can efficiently be controlled with Homematic IP products. No movement goes unnoticed with the security components. Users are informed whenever windows and doors are opened. One look at the app is enough to find out that everything is all right at home. Comfort is enhanced with switching and dimming actuators for light control as well as products for automation of shutters and blinds. All Homematic IP devices for brand switches can be easily integrated into the design of existing switch series using our adapters.
For operation, a Homematic IP Home Control Unit or Homematic IP Access Point in connection with the Homematic IP app (no recurring costs) is required. Once installed, the system can be controlled comfortably via app, remote control or wall-mounted push-button. In addition, the combination of almost all devices and conditions of various application areas is possible. Therefore, the Homematic IP app offers pre-programmed functionalities as well as the configuration of individual automation rules. There are virtually no limits to the users’ creative leeway. Another benefit is offered by controlling the system using voice control services like Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
Single devices are configured by the Homematic IP Home Control Unit or Homematic IP cloud service, which is run exclusively on servers located in Germany and therefore complies with European and German data protection guidelines. All data stored in the Homematic IP cloud is completely anonymous. However, it does not permit any conclusion about the user’s identity and the individual usage behaviour. Furthermore, all communication between the Access Point, cloud and app is encrypted. As neither during nor after installation of the app you will need to provide private data such as name, email address or mobile phone number, your anonymity is protected 100%.
The Homematic IP app is available for smartphones, tablets and Wear OS. The app supports the setup, configuration and operation of the Homematic IP installation. The Wear OS app supports the operation of Homematic IP devices for switching lights and sockets and for controlling access devices.

Installed homematic ip some 3 years ago. Two results. 1. i don't have hot spots or cold spots now. Each room has its own thermostat and timer profile. The thermostat is built into the radiator control valve. 2. in the first year before the covid and gas prices went through the roof, I saved £200 on my gas bill. So this would have meant that at those prices it was a 5-year payback. Obviously, with prices being much higher the payback is probably 3 years.

Amazing Product! Started with temperature control when building house and now have controls for shutters, pluggable switches, smoke detectors, motion detector, alarm, outside temperature and sunlight (LUX) sensors. Everything can get automated depending on weather outside or inside the house based on specific triggers, conditions and actions. Updates are done very often bringing new awesome features. Had it for a year with no problems at all. Would certainly recommend Homematic IP!

Amazing product. However, I give only 4 stars as there were some features requested by someone else in 2018, and they are still missing. Please implement the status of the thermostat in percent, how much is opened, please consider holiday mode during cooling period also (change-over system).

Design by engineers who do not use it. No way to monitor remaining boost time. No way to do most basic operation : temp day and temp night. Last year I have programmed complex schedules for different rooms. Now everything is deleted! UNACCEPTABLE! Security designed by dummies. I am in my own house reinstalled app scanned my 20 digit QR code and not admin and nothing shows you that you are not admin!!! How to corrupt a system with dmmy !

Do not buy! At first, it never worked well - very unstable connection to Access Point. AP never seems to recover once connection was interrupted. My other smart home solutions all work well. I got a new access point, and then it worked kind of ok, but then out of the blue, the shutter levels were not correct anymore. You would set 50% in the app and the shutter goes to 10%. I have solutions from 3 vendors and all have their little issues, but Homematic is the worst.

I can't register my system because the app says 'incorrect device number (SGTIN)'. How do I fix this?
