The bees are sick. Eichhörnchen and Bär (squirrel and bear) must rescue them, but the medicinal plant they need to do that is awfully far away. Also, a lynx is guarding the plant. Outside the forest, all the animals speak German. Help Eichhörnchen and Bär rescue the bees and learn German along the way.

This is a lovely game for people who are beginners at German and want
alternative ways of learning the language. :) This is for me speaking as an
adult with learning the language as the first priority. It gives you
context, in contrast to other language-learning apps, which I find focus
more on memorization. The graphics are clean and cute, and the world of Die
Bienenretten has a lot to interact with. The controls were a little
fidgety. I managed to get stuck on one level because I couldn't get either
Bär or Einhörnchen out from behind an intractable. I think the game was
too short! The "final boss" asks us to figure out words that weren't
introduced elsewhere in the game. I wouldn't have minded a few more
chapters to cover those words. Overall, great! :) Kudos to the developers
and designers for making a cute, helpful language-learning game.

The idea of coming up with an interactive way of learning a foreign language is really nice, but there is no foreign language; all the dialogues are in English.

Dialogs are all in english. Thought this was going to teach german. Disappointed

The English is incorrect in this game. For example, a character says, "It starts to get cold." This is a German construction. In English, it should be "It is getting cold." There are several examples of errors like this throughout.

Soooo slow. My 7y old seemed to like it ok, but was bored at the end, too. Plus: why teach the kids to kick over trash cans when they're in your way? Uncool! And the birds are apparently flying backwards! :o
