Comments on Lightning QR code scanner for Android

Does what it's supposed to and fast. Have used it for years and have never had an issue. No ads. A solid app.

★★★★★ Oskar Lesment · Feb 23, 2026

Have used it across 3 phones, satisfied. Works better than at least 3 others. I don't remember that it couldn't open a qr code, when some others failed. I installed on this phone for exactly that reason.

★★★★★ Helle Laanes · Jan 29, 2025

It's quick and the best part - it shows the whole link! I always know what exactly I'm about to open or not. A feature the phone camera just doesn't have.

Scanned a qr & it redirected me to an unrelated site which was asking for my email & credit card number. Dodgy app. Avoid

★☆☆☆☆ Raymond Spector · Apr 18, 2025

This app places advertisements on the bottom of its screen. While trying to register a TV, I accidently signed up for a sports app at 34.00 per month. Because they are a scam operation of course there was no mention of the recurring charge it just asks for credit card on file. Since I was trying to register apps on my new TV I didn't have a concern on me adding a credit card. If you allow a scam to advertise on your app you are a scammer as well. Pick another QR app.

I have used this app for years without issue, but today, I used it to open a link for Her scan. The app took me to some scams site where I entered my card number, thinking I was paying for my ultrasound. Now I have fraud charges on my card, and I had to close it. I've uninstalled the app. Use at your own risk!
