Description
LocaToWeb is a reliable GPS tracker for your phone. Use the app to track your adventures while hiking, running, bicycling, kayakking, road-tripping, motorcycle riding etc. It’s a great tool to record your routes, navigate and take photos. Its also great for following others tracking with the app.
A key feature is the possibility to share your location and progress with friends and family, let them see your progress on the map, see photos and interact trough messages. Knowing that your loved ones can follow your position and know where you are is a great safety aspect.
The app gives you duration, distance, speed and altitude as well as your exact position and track lines on a map while tracking. Your position is only tracked when a track has been set up and started and lasts until you stop it.
Tracks are by default private, but you can still share it with friends or publish the web-link that will allow others to see your route and progress on the map. If you set the track to be public it will be listed on LocaToWeb.com and and in the app for everyone to see. A track can be changed to private/public at any time.
Both private and public tracks can be shared on social media, sent via messenger, email, SMS etc.
Tracks are only identified using a track title and an alias (a name that you choose for every track), which means you can be as anonymous as you like. Registration for an account is recommended but not required, you can install and track without any signup. Your email address (if registered) is never visible to anyone.
The app comes with several map types, including satellite and topographic which makes it great for navigation. Waypoints can be added and displayed on the map (GPX) if you want to pre-load a route. It’s also possible to load other tracks into your own map while tracking.
Photos taken in the app will show on the map and can be viewed by others. Messages can be sent and received when the track is running. When using the app to view other tracks you can pin your own position and see where you are relative to the track you are viewing.

LocaToWeb gives me peace of mind. When I am out hiking or cycling, there's always that nagging feeling on my mind that something might happen and no one will know where I am. Searching for a simple, clear, and to-the-point app that would allow me to constantly share my position without frills, I came across LocaToWeb. LocaToWeb allows me to share my location up-front on a live map, and after I have done that, I can enjoy myself with a set-and-forget attitude and heightened awareness of my surroundings. Whenever I now go about, I share my live tracking map via WhatsApp (other options available) with my family and daughter, so that they will always know where I am, just in case, but with peace of mind.

I've started using the app to track motorbike rides. I like being able to review my ride later. My wife likes knowing where I am and my mates like to know when I'm meeting them at the destination. Works really well.

Unreliable: Used it for PBP brevet, but software crashed (no reaction) after six hours and drained battery heavily. It apparently was not able to deal with me regularly (every two hours) re-enabling airplane mode to save battery and update the shared track.

Can't register properly... Tried to register in the app, but the fields don't show what you're filling them out specifically for. Sure, I could go to the website on a browser, but this gave me pause as to other shortcomings in this app. This stopped my testing process, therefore I can't speak to otherwise how this app works. I couldn't make in out of the blocks with this one.

On the web page says it's "installed" but in phone it is not! What can I do??? After paying, on the webpage appears"installed". Of course, I try to install it from Google Play who says "download pending" (for how much time?)
