BLOCK APPS ON A SCHEDULE

Set a rule once and it runs on its own:

* Time window: block social media on weekdays from 9:00 to 17:00
* Usage limit: 30 minutes a day across the apps you choose
* Entry limit: three opens a day, then the app closes
* Location: block at the office, or block everywhere except home
* All day: a full digital detox

Start a timer when you need to get one thing done. Or run Pomodoro focus rounds with short breaks, where the apps you picked stay blocked through every round and open again on each break.

STRICT MODE

Blocking an app is easy. Not unblocking it five minutes later is the hard part. Strict Mode locks your rules so you cannot switch them off while a session is running. It ends when the time runs out, or when you enter your PIN.

Put a PIN in front of any app on your phone, including Locknest itself.

See where the hours actually went. Per-app usage for today, for the week, and the trend over time, so you can tell whether the rules are working.

FAMILY CONTROLS

Create a login for your child, see which apps they open and for how long, and block apps on their phone from yours. Child accounts never see ads.

FREE, AND CLEAR ABOUT WHY

Locknest is free and paid for by ads. There is nothing to buy inside it, and no feature is held back behind a payment. Everything works as a guest, with your data kept on your own phone. A free account is optional: it syncs your rules to a new phone, brings them back after a reinstall, and shows fewer ads. Ads never interrupt a block that is already running.

PERMISSIONS, AND WHAT EACH ONE IS FOR

* Usage Access: to know which app is on screen so a rule can act on it, and to show you your screen time.
* Display over other apps: to draw the block screen on top of a blocked app.
* Notifications: to show a running block and tell you when it ends.
* Device Admin, for Strict Mode only: so a block that is still running cannot be escaped by uninstalling the app. It is requested only when you turn Strict Mode on, and you can turn it off again in Settings.
* Location, optional: used only if you create a location rule.

Locknest does not read your messages, your browsing, or anything inside the apps you block. Your screen time stays on your phone unless you sign in and choose to sync it. You can delete your account and your data from inside the app.
