I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews. I have used this app on several Android phones, and it has proved more reliable than the usual 2FA SMS method of authentication that other banks use, especially if you are overseas and cannot receive SMS due to no roaming. Downside are that it even asks for authentication on transfers between my own accounts which I find very silly. At the very least it should only be to external transfers or purchases. Even so, much better than other banks.

Have read all the bad reports here, but here is what has happened to me December 2025. I have a Macquarie account. I logged into it on my laptop. I installed the Macquarie Authenticator on my phone. The Macquarie Auth told me to invent a 6 digit pin. Today I transferred some money from my Macquarie account to another person. I got a notification on my phone and opened it up. The Authenticator then asked me to resupply the six digit pin chosen earlier, then the funds transfer went through ok.

An account with Macquarie you are the teller anything thing you want done you have to do yourself they just manage your money so sick of no service switching to local banking where service comes first

I can't access Macquarie bank app because I don't have the code from this app. I can't access the authenticator app because I can't access my Macquarie bank app. It's just pointless and frustrating.
