Mahjong School: Learn Japanese Mahjong Riichi Mahjong School is where you can learn to play Mahjong. Mahjong School focuses on helping you learning Japanese style Mahjong, which is also almost the same as the European style (Riichi) and US style Mahjong. It may be a little different from Chinese, Hong Kong or Taiwan style, but if you succeeded in learning the Japanese rule, you can easily switch to the other rules. Mahjong School has three ways to help you learn Japanese Mahjong. 1 The Mahjong calculator. You can click to add tiles to hand or TING, CHOW, PON, CHI to make a winning hand. You can also set various conditions, such as DORA and self-draw. After set completed, the calculator will calculate the hand of FU and point for you, with detailed descriptions such as hand names. 2 The simple tutorial. This tutorial lists all the HAN for you, including an example hand and a description. 3 A practice mode. You can play Mahjong directly with AI. The AI is entry level and it’s very friendly for Mahjong learners. Practice is the best way to learn Mahjong.

Just fantastic. I was hoping to get into mahjong and this is by far the best app for it. Tutorial was quite helpful and the ability to turn on "English tiles" is absolutely invaluable. Overall, great app and the best if you want to play mahjong on your phone

I have played this game for a couple of hours so far, and I am enjoying it now that I have an idea of how to play the game. The reason I'm not giving the game 5 stars is because the tutorial kept freezing sometimes, and I couldn't undo my actions when making a mistake, so I had to close the app and reopen it to try again. Definitely worth downloading if you're interested in Mahjong and want to learn how to play. PS. I used this app to help play Mahjong in Yakuza 0 lol.

The "lessons" are presented as a dialog between 2 girls - which means reading unnecessary comments. I would've much rather preferred a simple presentation. It starts telling you to discard tiles before even explaining how the tiles are distributed or how they are set on the table. This is a detail, but when they are talking why is the background a library and not mahjong parlor? The names of the hands used are all mixed up, English, Japanese, Chinese, all together. No settings whatsoever.

Very frustrating. Hard to win. Always gave me wind or those Kanji tiles. Very easy for AI to Richie within few steps. Seems AI always got tiles they needed, and gave the junk to me. And if I Richie, the AI, sometime immediately got Richie too and almost surely AI will win the round. Felt scripted. Felt cheated. Need more explanation inside yaku list.
