Description
First launched in 2011, MapAlerter.ie is a free alert service for people living in Ireland who want to receive important service notifications from their County or City Council. The alerts you receive are based on your preferred location (eg, Eircode) so you will only receive updates for issues and events that affect you.
-- Councils -- MapAlerter.ie is used by the majority of Irish local authorities. Councils issue alerts across a number of service areas on MapAlerter, including: -- Water Service Alerts & Boil Water Notices -- Road Closures & Diversion Alerts -- Miscellaneous Council Alerts & Event Notices -- Flood Alerts & Severe Weather Warnings -- Planning Application Activity ** Check on MapAlerter.ie to see what categories are used by your Council. In some cases a Council may only alert for some of these categories.

A useful App for weather and local authority alerts - provided your local authority is signed up to it. Although it is explained on the website, it should be made clear in the App description which LAs are signed up. For example, Dublin City Council isn't. The sign-up process could be simplified - it would be nice if I could sign in using google or facebook, etc., rather than having to create a new password. Nice idea, it will be interesting to see how it evolves. It will work better if more LAs sign up.

Just installed, looks good, ticks a lot of boxes. Just moving around the map in the local area is informative. Haven't received any notifications yet so time will tell. Crucial missing info is the median flood level which is available from the OPW site. Might be useful to include a trigger when the current level is within X percent of flood especially of late which just might help give a notification of potential flooding. Just a thought.

A very good app. Perhaps I haven't discovered it yet but the ability to narrow alerts down to a specific road would be very useful.

This app simply doesn't work, which is ironic as it is designed to make access to public service information easier. Doesn't confirm by email that I've registered despite several attempts (data protection?) and won't allow its stated purpose, which is to add your location and therefore receive public service updates. If I could give it zero stars, I would. Atrocious! **UPDATE** THREE YEARS LATER TRIED THIS APP AGAIN. WON'T ACCEPT LOGIN EVEN THOUGH LOGIN WORKS ON THEIR WEBSITE. NO IMPROVEMENT.

Not able to receive notifications for alerts anymore. Can't see or set up any alerts for my council. Needs a fix badly

Atrocious Share button NOT WORKING. App browser _(alert display)_ SCROLLING NOT WORKING. Home and Work Location display NOT WORKING. All of these WERE WORKING previously!
