This gets a 5 star partially because it does what says it'll do, play media, but more importantly SOMEHOW it's the ONLY media player app that I could find that would let me reorder playlists.

2026 and im still using media monkey. I've finally transitioned away from any streaming service and gone back to buying music from bandcamp, locally and having my music I own in the palm of my hands. I use my Linux computer to sync my music automatically to my phone so media monkey can play it for me. Old question: Hey guys I just purchased media monkey gold, how do I activate my license on my phone?

I've finally got syncing going between my pc and Android pixel 6 phone, but I just can't use the player reliably at all. Often it just jumps from track to track without playing anything. Sometimes it looks like it's playing but no sound comes out. The last time I tried to use it I picked a song from one album and every single time I tried to play it, it just jumped to a completely different song on another album. It's not the music library. I can play the same songs perfectly with Power amp.

EDIT: That answer u gave me is a Bummer! I'm currently in the hospital (going on day 37 now) and I can't get access to my PC at work! Are there any other ways to access Google Drive in your app? Do I have to pay again for the Windows version of Media Monkey? Will it even work on Windows 7?? ----Bummer! I can't add any cloud servers like Google Drive! Is it even possible?

MM has a great interface and once you're using it it's absolutely fantastic. But getting to that point is so frigging frustrating. I would love to pay for the life subscription, but I won't pay for an app where the only tutorial videos are from the 1800s. Every time I create a new playlist on my pc, I have to delete all my tracks from my phone and then re-sync the lot again. Please please please make a new tutorial video on how to sync with cable and how to choose folders and permissions.

Paid version still displays ads. Response to Developer: Why am I seeing ads, especially in the media areas and over the play bar? These ads could be pulled from the album look-up, but I already have album art attached to ALL my media and device is configured to only “Lookup missing album art”. I have since disabled this feature and had re-update/sync my media. I have attempted to send screenshots to the email in the above Response, but received "Remote host said: 452 4.2.2 Mailbox full"

Trust & Safety: Privacy and safety: MediaMonkey states it does not collect user data beyond functionality. Data handling notes include encryption for debug logs (collected only if you submit a debug log) and selective data transmission for features like Windows sync, casting, Android Auto, and Last.fm scrobbling. Permissions include CAMERA (QR code configuration), WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE and WRITE_SETTINGS (file and system adjustments), as well as networking permissions for internet access and UPnP/casting. Track information lookup is only shared with third parties if you explicitly enable that feature; otherwise metadata remains on-device. The app emphasizes an ad-free experience and notes that data is transmitted only as required for features.
