Works pretty well. It needs to have the option to do custom start/stop times when using it in manual mode so you can have it keep it cold during the day before it starts cooking it. Also the ability to add in custom recipes would be great as well. Had a slight issue with my steak cooking today (it finished cooking 20 minutes before it was supposed to). I think it was because I put it in this morning, and it was frozen, and I selected "frozen" instead of "fresh" in the app. By the end of the day when it finally started cooking, it defrosted so it cooked faster than it should have. Wasn't a big deal, just had it keep it warm while I made my sides. I think the app needs to take that into consideration though. Had it keep my steak cold for 12 hours before starting to cook, so it should know my 3/4" steak sitting in cold water for 12 hours would defrost it. Other than that, I think it's working great so far!

So mad, my mellow is useless now that everything is based on a subscription. Use to be able to choose what and when i want it done. But now i only have manual mode since everything requires a subscription. I will trash this device if it will not do what it use to when purchased new.

I am appalled by the surprise subscription requirement for full use of my mellow. Absolutely unconscionable decision for a $399 machine. There was no subscription when I bought it. Now to use the "premium features" that is; anything that makes it a smart sous vide (the whole reason for buying it) you need a premium subscription. This went from my favorite kitchen appliance to a forgettable gadget that will get buried in my pantry BEHIND my seldom used Snoopy Snow Cone Machine. DON'T BUY IT!!!
