HOW IT WORKS
Your MRT Pass and Rapid Pass contain an NFC chip that stores your balance and last 20 transactions. Metro Buddy reads that chip directly on your phone and decodes it on the device. That is why it works with no internet connection at all.

YOUR CARD DATA STAYS ON YOUR PHONE
Balances, trips and card nicknames are stored only in your phone's local storage. Your card data is never uploaded, never sent to a server, and never shared with anyone. There is no sign-up and no account.

READ-ONLY BY DESIGN
Metro Buddy can only read your card. It cannot add money, change your balance, or write to the card — that is restricted to DMTCL. Recharge at official station counters and kiosks.

REQUIREMENTS
An Android phone with NFC. Turn on NFC in your phone settings, open Metro Buddy, and hold the card flat against the back of the phone. Most phones read the card near the top or centre of the back panel.
