MileStack: Mileage Deduction

MileStack is a mileage log for the US standard mileage deduction. Enter the miles, tap Business, Medical, Charitable or Personal, and the deduction is worked out for you at the per-mile rate the app uses for that purpose. No account, no sign-in, nothing running in the background.

A mileage deduction is only worth what you can show at the end of the year. MileStack keeps that record in a form you can hand straight to whoever prepares your return: every trip dated, tagged with its purpose, priced at the rate listed below and ready to export.

RATES THE APP USES (IRS 2026, applied by each trip's date)
- Business: $0.725 a mile to June 30, $0.76 from July 1
- Medical and moving: $0.205 a mile to June 30, $0.235 from July 1
- Charitable: $0.14 a mile, fixed by statute
- Personal: logged, never deducted

YOUR TOTALS, ALWAYS VISIBLE
The summary holds miles and deduction for business, medical and charitable driving, with the total deduction at the top of the screen. It moves the moment you add or remove a trip, so you always know what the mileage log is worth.

CSV EXPORT
One tap builds a CSV with six columns: date, miles, purpose, rate, deduction and note. Personal trips are exported at a rate of zero, so the record stays complete without inflating the claim. The CSV goes out as text through your phone's share sheet, so you can send it by email or message to your accountant.

WHO KEEPS A MILEAGE LOG
Real estate agents, rideshare and delivery drivers, couriers, contractors, sales reps, 1099 freelancers and small business owners who file a Schedule C. Volunteers logging charitable miles and anyone tracking medical driving use the same three categories.

PRIVACY
Everything stays on the device. MileStack has no account, no server, no analytics and no advertising. The app makes no network calls, so nothing is uploaded and the mileage log works with no signal. It runs on phones and tablets and follows your light or dark setting.

QUESTIONS
Does it detect drives on its own? No. You enter each trip yourself, which is why nothing runs in the background and the app never asks for location access.
Can I log personal driving? Yes. Personal trips stay in the log and in the export, and they are never counted in the deduction.
What do I do with the CSV? It is shared as comma-separated text, so you can send it by email or message to whoever prepares your return. The columns line up with a standard mileage claim.
Does it cover actual vehicle expenses or depreciation? No. MileStack handles the standard mileage method only.
Can I separate two vehicles? Not at the moment. Every trip goes into one log.
