It is the best magazine articles that I ever read. I managed to sit still and read through a page without fidgeting.

Good articles, & podcasts. App looks good & is easy to navigate through. Rich Lowry has great content!
★★★★★Reno Railfanning· Mar 1, 2025
The National Review is Conservative but doesn't fawn over The Republican Party. It's a more nuanced version of Conservative news. The app is great also.
★★★★★Gary Pasquarell· Apr 10, 2022
National Review is indispensable as a source of news and analysis of world events and current events. This app makes NR magazine plus more accessible 24/7 and that's a big gain with no downside.

I pay money for a subscription to this stinking app, NR plus no less, but the pop-up ads are so frequent that I have to try and log in repeatedly if I don't run out of patience and put away my phone and go to my tower PC. I'm uninstalling the app and as the wok esters on NR would say F++you National Review!
★☆☆☆☆Tim Turnbull· Aug 26, 2021
Content from National Review is excellent. National Review's app is terrible. The app often reverts to bagginess and has annoyances like articles without publishing dates. National Review should do better. [Originally posted in 2019. As of August 2021, the app is still terrible.]
★☆☆☆☆Harris Tweed· Mar 11, 2021
Great magazine, terrible app. Usually when I open it I get a blank screen and have to use the back button to restart it. Then it frequently kicks me out of whatever I'm browsing so that I have to go back and find where in the list of articles I was. Within the list, the articles move around as ads load. Links to related information open within the NR app (no url). I put up with it because I enjoy the magazine, but I wait for my physical copy often because the app is so lousy.

Don't bother downloading this app. Stick with the website. I pay a subscription to access the content, so why do I have to dodge ads? What finished this app for me was the soft porn ads, even though I have NEVER, EVER accessed that sort of website to attract that kind of filth. I have emailed NR multiple times asking for suggestions or help, specifically mentioning the porn ads, even sending screenshots. Crickets. I agree. WFB would be disappointed.

Sensible conservatism right in my hand anytime. Or so you would think. The app is painfully slow, often not loading what I had intended. Always trouble with logging in even though I'm a subscriber. And ads ads ads even though I'm a subscriber! I would like the search to be a better. I can see an article on my desktop but, when I search through the app, it isn't as easy to find. You're better off just using the website. I'm really disappointed with this app, and I know Buckley would be, too.
