NetSpeed: Internet Speed Meter

NetSpeed is a live internet speed meter and net speed indicator for Android. See your real-time download and upload speed in the status bar, in a floating bubble right by the camera, and on home-screen widgets, on Wi-Fi, 4G and 5G mobile data.

Your network speed, alive: a snail when it crawls, a bike, a car, a plane, a rocket when it flies.

★ NET SPEED IN THE STATUS BAR
The classic network speed indicator, right next to the clock. 5 icon styles (Auto, Arrows ↕, Arrows ↔, Stacked, Compact), crisp arrows, KB/s and MB/s, your choice of font, text size from 70% to 140%, and colours on Galaxy phones. No overlay needed. Or show the bubble and the icon together.

★ A SPEED BUBBLE BY THE CAMERA
The live speed bubble sits in the gap between the camera and your Wi-Fi and battery icons, placed smartly for your phone and never over system icons. Drag it anywhere, or nudge it pixel by pixel with the arrow pad.

★ DATA USAGE MONITOR
• Live download and upload speed, today's peak and average
• Today's data usage and a 30-day usage history
• Daily data cap that fills the Rings widget
• Name your own speed tiers and set where each one starts

★ 26 LIVE LOOKS
11 living scenes (Journey, Runner, Comet, Tachometer, Turbine, Manga, Data river, Heartbeat, Fireflies, Blob, Lightning jar), 15 motion themes and 6 colour skins. Drag the "Feel any speed" slider or press Demo ride and watch every preview speed up before you pick.

★ MAKE THE BUBBLE YOURS
• Full width with the number inside the scene, or the number on its own
• Character size: Normal, Big or Huge, so the rocket reads at status-bar size
• Size presets or exact width and height
• 12 fonts, bold or regular, letter spacing
• Background, text colour and outline, or transparent with just the character

★ SPEED WIDGETS THAT MOVE
5 home-screen widgets (Hero banner, Dial, Rings, Pill and Weather) with 10 text layouts that keep the numbers clear of the scene.

★ BUILT-IN SPEED TEST
Tap Speed test for your download, upload and ping in Mbps, the same unit as other speed tests, measured against Cloudflare's servers. See how your Wi-Fi or mobile plan really performs.

★ PRIVATE BY DESIGN
The meter reads Android's own traffic counters and sends nothing. The internet is used only while a speed test you start is running. No ads, no trackers, no account, no in-app purchases. Every feature is free.

★ LIGHT ON BATTERY
One tiny read per second, nothing else. In bubble mode NetSpeed runs without a notification, and a built-in health check shows exactly what your phone needs to keep the meter running.

Works on Android 8 and newer.

Recent changes:
New: a floating, spoken guide for the "Display over other apps" permission.
• Tap Allow and a small window shows exactly where NetSpeed and its switch are in Settings, step by step, with voice prompts.
• The app comes back on its own the moment the permission is on.

Also includes the 1.4.1 fixes: the bubble keeps one size at every speed, and fits better beside the camera on Motorola and other phones.
