NJM SafeDrive Go is a voluntary program that encourages safer driving and offers a discount on your car insurance, if you choose to participate. A smartphone app is used to measure driving behaviors and provide feedback to you and information to NJM regarding your acceleration, braking, cornering, distracted driving, and speed. The app measures the following data points:
* Acceleration — sharp increases in speed * Braking — hard braking occurrences * Cornering — the angle and speed of a turn * Distracted Driving — handling or interaction with the smartphone while the vehicle is in operation * Speed — measured and compared to the posted speed limit

I live in a rural setting, so the app doesn't take into account blind corners or deer/critter crossing. But for suburban or urban it seems very good.

I uninstalled this app due to its errors and unreliability. When I'm a passenger in another person's car, this app thinks I'm driving and rates me. I'm sick of it. It's not worth the stress.

The telematics from the app were used to increase my rates significantly (Up $649 annual) despite being told my rates would not increase from participating, thus nullifying the discount, reinforcing the idea of my data being used against me, and forcing me to increase my deductibles to reduce the rate. This terminated my trust in this so-called 'discount' program. App also uses a lot of energy. Will be removing myself from the program, deleting the app, and reassessing my ongoing insurance.

This app seems a little intrusive. It wants access to physical activity of my phone. I mean it's bad enough it wants Bluetooth on all the time and also gps, but why does it need physical activity. I almost feel like I'm better off just paying the full price of my insurance
