Description
The Steer Clear® app is part of a comprehensive program that helps young drivers reinforce positive driving behavior. Young drivers, under age 25, who complete the Steer Clear® Safe Driver Program, may be eligible for an adjustment to the premium on their State Farm® auto insurance. The Steer Clear mobile application tracks a driver's progress through pre-set learning modules of updated content including topics such as Bluetooth, distracted driving (texting/games), and special driving situations. Drivers will no longer need to manually record their trips if the program is conducted through this app. Throughout their trips, drivers will be scored and given feedback on their braking, acceleration, and cornering. Once a driver completes the program, they will receive a program completion certificate that they can text, email, or bring into the agent's office. Badges have been added to Steer Clear to recognize and reward a variety of specific driving accomplishments. The badges will help align users to shared goals of the app, such as scoring a certain percentage on a specific driving behavior, while acting as virtual, motivational status symbols.

Congrats on the predictive back. As a nerd, I can say the ui is great, maybe in the trips section, put the start new trip button on the TOP. Other than that, pretty great. Except it's always complaining about my phone "not being in a stationary location" I'm in the car dude, what do you mean by stationary. However my experience hasn't been horrible compared to some of the other reviews. You just gotta hit start trip and start driving and it works. The modules are just short, basic driver's ED.

I don't like how the trips feature does not seem to properly log all the time spent driving. Why would a 50-minute trip be turned into 18 minutes?

The driving tracker is really janky. Drive for 30 minutes, only logged 1 minute.

Put your phone horizontally and low where it can't slide or jiggle. The app does not tell you how or where the phone should go in your car. The first time I drove, I put it high and vertically like I do for directions. It caused the phone to move, which gave me bad scores even though I was being super careful. My parent drove with me and was totally confused why my scores were bad, it wasn't just me. Once I put it flat on the ground where it wouldn't jostle, my scores got way better.
