Comments on NMEA Tools for Android

★★★★★ Aaron Webstey · Aug 30, 2026

Update: the developer got back to me pretty much immediately and fixed the licensing issue. This app is pretty amazing. I've been using it to allow my software to track my position while on a ship in the Arctic, and it just works exactly like I want it to (and better than I thought it would). Past comment: This is a great app but every time I open it I have to re-confirm that I have paid for the features I have purchased in app.

Best NMEA Tools, is good to see and log your RAW GPS information (NMEA sentences) to a file on your SD card.

★★☆☆☆ A Google User · Aug 10, 2014

Dev wants money... only 3000 data points parsed. Less than an hour tracks can be displayed.

★☆☆☆☆ Ryan Hurst · Jan 13, 2023

Will not allow usage unless you permit all the time access. I only want while using the app but that is not an option so this app is immediately suspect. Delete it ASAP.

★★☆☆☆ Colin Stepney · Mar 26, 2025

Logs NMEA location but won't log depth. My OpenVPN logs depth just fine on my Wi-Fi gateway, but this app won't do it.
