Great app for finding parks near your current location. Optimized well and has great functionality. A must-have for those who are into hiking!

★★★★★ M. Klein · Jul 2, 2020

Great app! Clear & cohesive. Easy to follow. Main screen has things broken down by categories including things like favorites staff picks, lighthouses. Hidden gems. Golf, military heritage etc. The search tool is very effective in further drilling down various locations & places you may want to visit. One super helpful item is it tells you how far away is each of these destinations are from your current point. Once you click on a location, you can get info such as hours, fees & contact info.

Such a great way to discover parks and sites to add to our travel plans!

★★★★★ Gingere La · Jul 4, 2020

The timely update on park closure & admission is handy. Please add more details about ongoing program and connect links to DEC-managed state parks.

DO NOT DEPEND ON THIS APP to save your empire pass for you! It will remove the pass at random. When you drive who knows how many miles out to the state park to enjoy an afternoon, some booth attendant will inform you that even if you have your pass number, and an email confirmation of the valid $80 pass renewal, that it's not enough to get into to the public park that you've already prepaid to be able to enter. Don't get turned away at the gate, do not use this app.

★☆☆☆☆ Schuyler Gazzo · Aug 26, 2021

As with everything else run by New York State, this app doesn't work properly. Pay for a three-year pass, scan the QR code into the app, good to go right? A month later go to take my kids to the beach, pull up the app when I get to the gate, NO F#+$ING PASS REGISTERED. So now I have a screaming toddler who can't go to the beach (no cash on me) until my wife, who is at work, sends me the QR code.

Why have a lot of state parks vanished from the listing? All my favorites have disappeared, like Green Lakes.
