Gotta say I was surprised at most of the negative reviews. So far, the initial setup was pretty straightforward. I connected 1 wired and 2 battery alarms (the Smart Smoke and CO alarms, not the Safe & Sound with the speaker) and they were all recognized by the app in a few seconds without a hitch. Just tested the alarms using the app and the initial impression is good, testing 1 will trigger the other 2 to also alarm and even tells you the type of alarm and the location. Not bad for half price.

Update: First Alert fixed the issues. App could update alarm status more frequently, however. My fire alarms went off with a false alarm, but the app wouldn't accept the command when we hit the silence button, meanwhile everything in the house is going nuts, and we have to get a broom and hit all the silence buttons.....just figured out you have to hold the silence button, but they don't say that in the app. What a mess. Also, wouldn't send to the alarm until I disconnected from Wi-Fi.

In my case I had to open TCP port 8883 for both the fire alarm and my phone on my firewall. It would be five stars if the vendor had better documentation about what firewall ports are required. This is the problem with IoT, the documentation is poor and the support life cycle is short.

So far not bad. Pros & cons. The speakers are not bad if not up to max. I had a little trouble setting it up - did not click the Alexa link when it appeared. Ended up resetting and starting over - got to the Alexa link and set that up then continued and it worked. I set up the downstairs one first and all was well. It kept beeping every 60 seconds because I didn't have it mounted yet. Then went upstairs and set the second one up. Found a problem with the app - the list of announcement-no upstairs

My fire alarms went off with a false alarm, but the app wouldn't accept the command when we hit the silence button, meanwhile everything in the house is going nuts, and we have to get a broom and hit all the silence buttons.....literally if I wanted to do that I wouldn't have paid a lot of money for a "smart" fire alarm......just figured out you have to hold the silence button, but they don't say that in the app. What a mess. Also, wouldn't send to the alarm until I disconnected from Wi-Fi.

"Something came up. The application has cancelled the request to choose a device." I paid over $250 for a smoke detector! I must be NUTS! It won't connect to my phone or Wi-Fi. I've rebooted my router over 10 times. I've removed this thing from the ceiling and reinstalled it over 10 times. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app over 10 times. Rebooted the phone over 10 times. I go through the set-up process over and over and over again. Each time, I start at the beginning with the red +, The add Product/Choose your One Link product. I choose Safe & Sound. I name my home - Home, I name the room - Dining Room, I select Alarm announcement - Dining Room. I push Continue. I then hit continue through the installation guide. Ladder, Screwdriver, 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. Continue. Installation. Continue. Mount your alarm. Continue. Activate Accessories. Looking for accessories. We found 1 accessories. One link Safe Sound 93B4. I push that. It then asks for device to use with One link. Networks pop up along with One link 94B3. There's a big difference between a network and a device, but customer support says my network is the device. Strange. So I choose my network. Regardless of weather I choose the network or the actual device, I get the same message: "Something came up. The application has cancelled the request to choose a device." Customer support doesn't know what that means. They tell me that I should get a message of what the problem is. But no. I get "Something came up. The application has cancelled the request to choose a device."

Not reliable. Changing nightlight color doesn't work all the time. It says, couldn't connect to cloud. Mute and Alexa works but not light.
