This marks my third and fourth First Alert SC5 to replace expiring Google Nest smoke alarms. The first two were replaced in February 2026. Have so far had no issues

The same was so helpful. He sent me step-by-step instructions as what the issue was and how to correct it. In less than 5 minutes the problem was taken care of.

I liked the app prior to the update. It would show indoor temperature and humidity. Now it only shows temperature with the smart thermostat.

It's great to pick up your phone and turn on the air conditioner, or turn up the heat when you leave work and have the house warm when I get home. It's so easy!

App was working well for me; however, recent update stopped displaying humidity for my x2s thermostat. I wish I could get that back.

Much improvement from the older versions of the app, however I've got a wired exterior temperature sensor for actual outdoor temperature, which is at the moment is reading (correctly) 12° hotter than what the internet reports. However, from the app there's no way to see the observed outdoor temperature, nor does it report this to Alexa to ask Alexa what's the outdoor temperature and actually get the real reading from the thermostat sensor. Edit: your response is as bad as the old app version -1⭐

Smoke alarms go off randomly. Had them intermittently replaced with warranty, and with the last batch (6 of 9) the customer service support told me the last batch had faulty sensors causing false alarms. After getting the new ones, after 3 months the alarm started going off. Can't silence the alarm from the app. Can't silence the alarm by pressing the button. Really missing the nest brand smoke detectors.

It's for a Honeywell thermostat, and it can't connect to my Bluetooth. It's supposed to be a Wi-Fi thermostat but first, it doesn't list the new thermostat, second, it won't connect to my phone, so I can complete the setup. $90 "smart" thermostat. Stupid piece of garbage that now I have to return to Home Depot.
