Or it can receive notifications for login, which can be approved with a simple tap. When this authentication is used on top of username-password, it adds an additional layer of security that is essential for today's online applications.

Ridiculous proprietary MFA - Why can't I use my normal MFA app for Oracle services? Now when I change or lose devices (an inevitable event that happens regularly) I'm very likely to be locked out of Oracle services, for which I depend on professionally. The email based MFA wouldn't work for me either.

The app is unable to use autofocus on the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, so it cannot scan the QR code, since it's too blurry. Instead of fighting with the app, I went with the less secure SMS auth. I don't understand why Oracle Corp cannot just use well-established and properly working industry-standard apps like e.g. the Google Authenticator. Uninstalled.

From sign up to their authentication app Oracle appears stuck in 1999. With all the bad reviews why not just let us use Authy? Leave authentication to people who know what the f they're doing.
