Can't get past the Syncing screen after trying to connect to Google Fit.

Does not seem to work on Android phones, gets to the "Steps Today" part and stays "Synching..."

Doesn't work. After I grant all permissions and connect it to Google Fit, it gets stuck on "Syncing..." screen. I have waited for over 30 minutes and nothing else happens. Also tried to clear app cache and try again, but result is the same.

Stony Brook University ask me to install the app for a research project. Out walk remains in syncing mode. I have uninstalled and installed several times. Google Fit is running with all permissions. Samsung Fold 5 running android 14
