It counts my steps exactly the way I want my steps tracked with a persistent notification. It does have ads in the free version but only sometimes when you load the app to check your steps.

App has just started playing a really annoying jingle, it plays even after the app is shut. The only way I have found to kill it is to force stop the app in developer mode. Previously app was fine (tune problem started 30th Jan 2024) Tried the app again, did not have the problem with the jingle this time, but the adds made the app unusable. Much better alternative available, still 1 star

In the description it starts "Steps App turns your iPhone into a sleek...". They are not focused on the app they have in Google, obviously. I keep getting the "Access token expired" when I have paid for a yearly subscription. The expectation is for me to keep fixing the problem. The only reason I paid for this in the first place is to be able to connect with friends. Without this option, this app is useless. Google Fit and Samsung Health do a fine job of counting steps.
