Description by Kingandy (from Google Play)

Palm🌴Wind is a unique AR tool that lets you estimate wind speed using visual clues offline. Simply point your camera at a palm tree and adjust the virtual overlay until it matches the real-time movement of the leaves.

How it works:

1.Align: Frame a real palm tree in your camera view. Use pinch and drag to fit the frame.
2.Sync: Adjust the intensity slider until the animation matches the tree's sway.
3.Measure: Get an instant wind speed reading based on the movement.

Features:

•AR Overlay: Real-time visual matching.
•Refine View: Transparency controls and Mirror mode for wind direction.
•Customizable: Tap the speed to change units (km/h, mph, knots, m/s).
•Easy Reset: Double-tap to reset your view instantly.

Perfect for kite-surfing, windsurfing, surfers, sailors, and wind sport lovers.

Comments on Palm Wind for Android

★★★★★ Mc dunc · Feb 9, 2026

I was intrigued by this app's simple approach. I often observe palm trees to gauge wind speed for kiting or winging sessions. In the past I didn't have a precise frame of reference to match my observations. This app matches wind speeds with the observable effects seen in palm trees. It's easy to use, accurate and gives the user a clear indication of the current wind speed range. Great little tool for beach checks, quite practical, without the cost of an expensive handheld anemometer.
