Windy.app - wind, waves and weather forecast app for surfers, kitesurfers, windsurfers, sailors, fishermen and other wind sports.

✔ Wind alert: Set up windalert and be aware of wind warning via push-notifications
✔ Weather history (archive) for 2012-2021: view wind data, temperature (day and night) and atmospheric pressure. Weather archive will help you to choose the best month for travel to the spot.
✔ Local forecast from NOAA: temperature in Celsius, Fahrenheit and Kelvin, humidity, wind speed, precipitation (rain and snow). Forecast for 10 days with 3 hours step in metric or imperial units: m/s (mps), mph, km/h, knt (knout), bft (beaufort), m, ft, mm, cm, in, hPa, inHg. Best weather app for actually getting your head around what the weather is going to do. I use it for surfing, about to buy a sailing boat so will subscribe at that stage, but it's got enough going on for free without being too in your face about spending money. One suggestion, it can be tricky to match colors to the heatmap key at the top of the weather maps so an arrow against the color for that particular hour would be helpful. Recommended though, good work!

Sorry no. after having to go through a dozen screens of questions... including my age? Just to start to use the app... then has the temerity to prompt me to buy a subscription before I can even open the app one time? No I'm not going to play that game. Uninstalled won't use it.

You have to answer a thousand questions before it will tell you anything about the weather. Even then it still tries to get you to upgrade before it will tell you anything about the weather. I installed this 10 minutes ago and still don't know what the weather is. I'm uninstalling this after I make this comment.

In app pop-ups making accidentally subscribing to pro too easy. I cancelled immediately but was still charged the full amount. When you're in the field you don't have time to stop what you're doing and email customer service.

Deleted immediately because it's not free. No one wants to subscribe then unsubscribe over and over just to avoid a fee. If it can be free for a trial then it can be free period.
