Description by vmcreate(from Google Play)
Need 12 testers for 14 days before Google Play gives you production access? PeerPlay is a community of Android developers who test each other's apps, so your closed test actually finishes.
HOW IT WORKS 1. Test other developers' apps and earn PP Coins. 2. Spend PP Coins to list your own app for closed testing. 3. Developers join your Google Group or tester list, install your app and open it every day. 4. Track daily activity for every tester until your 14 days are done. 5. Apply for production access with real activity and feedback you can point to.
WHY DEVELOPERS USE PEERPLAY • Real people on real Android phones, not emulators. • Daily activity tracking, so you can see who is actually testing. • Testers who uninstall early are flagged and can be replaced, so your 14-day streak doesn't break. • Bug reports with screenshots and written feedback for your app. • Active developers get more visibility, so the more you test, the faster you get testers. • Invite your own friends or users with a link and track them in the same place.
BUILT FOR THE 12 TESTERS RULE New personal developer accounts on Google Play must run a closed test with at least 12 testers who stay opted in for 14 days in a row before they can publish to production. Google also asks how you tested your app and what feedback you got. PeerPlay gives you the testers and the activity history to answer those questions.
WHO IT'S FOR • Indie developers and students publishing their first app • Flutter, React Native, Unity and native Android developers • Anyone stuck on "you need 12 testers" or rejected for "not enough testing"
No begging for installs in random groups and no waiting on friends who forget to open your app. Test a few apps, earn coins, get your 12 testers, and ship.

## In-app review moment Shown once (Google decides if the native rating sheet appears) the first time the developer opens PeerPlay after a campaign is marked completed, at most once every 30 days. See the draft PR in vmcreate/testerhub.
Recent changes: Clarified the paused badge on your dashboard - it now says Dev Idle, so you know it means the developer has gone quiet, not that your own testing stopped. Your progress keeps counting as normal either way. Also added automatic cleanup on the backend: testers who go quiet for several days now free up their slot so an active tester can take it, helping developers reach their 12 real testers faster. Thanks for sticking with PeerPlay and testing!

Comments on PeerPlay: 12 Testers, 14 Days for Android
★★★★☆Don Engel· Jul 2, 2026
Update: you also need something beyond nudges to report bad actors directly. I have several testers that have never tested back. App is decent so far, but the recording of testing has some bugs. I've tried to get it to record some apps testing requirements multiple times, with it never recording the time spent. Other times it works just fine. No rhyme or reason to it. This can be truly time-wasting. Still, it's an easier way to produce the needed testers for the Play Store.
