Photo Voice: PDF, Image Reader

Photo Voice turns any page into a book you can listen to. Take a photo of a page, or open a PDF or an e-book, and the app reads it aloud in a natural voice — at home, on the go, or with your eyes closed.

It was made for real, imperfect pages: old books, scanned textbooks, rare editions that never had an audiobook, school handouts, a printed letter. If you can photograph it, you can listen to it.

📷 PHOTO, SCAN OR FILE
- Photograph a page with the camera or pick an image from the gallery
- PDF files: the text layer is read directly, scanned PDFs are recognized page by page
- E-books and documents: EPUB, FB2, TXT and HTML
- Two-page spreads and columns are kept in reading order
- A blurry photo is not turned into nonsense: the app tells you what to retake instead

🔎 TEXT RECOGNITION THAT WORKS OFFLINE
Modern OCR (image to text) runs right on your phone. Recognition models are downloaded once and then work without the internet. Supported scripts: English and European Latin languages, Russian, Ukrainian, Belarusian and other Cyrillic languages (including Kazakh), Greek, Arabic, Farsi, Urdu, Hindi, Marathi, Nepali, Korean, Thai and Chinese. The recognized text is cleaned up before reading: hyphens are joined, broken lines fixed, formulas are skipped instead of being read as gibberish.

🎧 A REAL AUDIOBOOK PLAYER
- Text to speech with the voices already on your phone — choose any voice you like
- Keeps playing in the background and with the screen locked
- Play and pause from the lock screen, the notification or your headphone buttons
- Reading speed ×1, ×1.5, ×2, ×2.5 and ×3 — the pitch stays natural
- Sleep timer that finishes the current part before stopping
- Remembers where you stopped in every book
- The part being read is highlighted, tap any part to listen from there

The first part takes about a minute to prepare, because your phone creates the voice itself. After that the next part is ready while the current one is playing, so you won't hear any pauses.

♿ MADE FOR SCREEN READERS AND LOW VISION
Photo Voice works with TalkBack from the start. Every button is labeled, each step is announced by voice, parts are announced as "Part 3 of 12", and a gentle vibration tells you the app is working while the voice is being prepared. Accessibility is not a premium feature here — it is the reason the app exists.

It helps students with scanned textbooks, people who love books but whose eyes are busy or tired, and anyone who finds reading on a screen hard.

🔒 PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No account. No ads. No analytics. Your photos, books and reading history stay on your phone and are never uploaded. The internet is used only to download the recognition models.

🎁 40 MINUTES FREE, THEN ONE PURCHASE FOREVER
Listen to the first 40 minutes free, with any books you like — only the time you actually hear is counted. If the app is useful to you, a single one-time purchase unlocks unlimited reading forever. No subscriptions, ever. Moving to a new phone? Just tap "Restore purchase".

🌍 The interface is available in English, Russian, Turkish, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and Indonesian.

Photo Voice is made by Eclectic Art Lines, a small independent studio. We would love to hear how you use it.
